TEP

Expands under atmospheric or pressure foaming with fine, uniform cells

Generic name
Expandable microspheres
Chemical name
Core-shell thermally expandable microspheres
Specifications

Test items by grade

Values below are taken from the product data sheet. Batch results are governed by the accompanying COA.

Property TEP-F019
Grade TEP-F019
Appearance White or pale yellow powder
Particle size 30–40 μm
Expansion start (°C) 140–160
Maximum expansion (°C) 190–200

Properties

  • Core-shell structure: an acrylonitrile copolymer shell around a liquid low-boiling hydrocarbon core.
  • On heating, the shell softens and becomes thermoplastic while the core vaporises and builds pressure, expanding the shell.
  • Stable performance, does not stain the article, and does not affect cure or moulding speed.
  • Suitable for both atmospheric and pressure foaming with uniform expansion and an ideal fine-cell structure.

Applications

  • Slippers, shoe soles, insoles, subsea buoys, plastic wallcovering, floor leather, synthetic leather, thermal and acoustic insulation.

Packaging & storage
